Moorland – considered one of the greatest challenges on the East Coast – a par 72. Noted golf architect, P. B. Dye designed this course opening in 1990. The course radiates the influence of the PGA West Stadium Course in California. The massive areas of natural growth, sand water and waste areas illustrate this point. Deep faced bunkers, signature bulkheads, and 64 sand bunkers is one of the most requested courses to be played.
Each hole is unique in layout and approach allowing you to create lasting memories. To that point, the par 4- 16th hole, nickname is “Hells Half Acre” which has a 12 foot deep bunker. This hole will leave you scratching your head for days! On the par5 -15th , a definite 3-shot hole, the closer you get to the green the more narrow the landing area becomes. The green in very deep and three-tiered, which will make your pin placement tricky. The last hole, a par-4, should favor the right with a slight draw. A large mound on the right of the green blocks the player’s view of a portion of the green, which is larger than it appears from the second shot.
